Board Chairman of Accra Hearts of Oak Commodore Mensah expects the 100 birthday celebration of the club today to open a new chapter in the club’s history.Hearts of Oak turns 100 today and the club have so much to celebrate in 100 years with a clear dominance of the local championship in the premier league era winning nine out of 17 seasons played with the closest challengers in Ashanti Gold and Asante Kotoko who have won just three titles each.In an interview with Joy Sports, Commodore Mensah indicated that, the centenary celebration is an opportunity to work towards reaching the levels of some great teams in Africa.“This is an opportunity to rejuvenate hearts and do something different to elevate the club”. Mensah told Joy Sports.Hearts is the most successful Ghanaian club in the last two decades, dominating other domestic championships like the FA Cup and international competitions, the CAF Champions league and the CAF Confederation Cup.
