Jacob Ankasa De-Veer, a mechanic, on Wednesday appeared before the Tema Circuit Court 'A', charged with stealing 200 bags of cement.
De-Veer pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of GH¢2,500 (25 million cedis) with one surety to reappear on September 6.
Presenting the facts of the case to the court, presided over by Mr. Charles Asiedu, Police Chief Inspector Mary Assunta said the complainant Mr. Willord Collins Quarcoe was the works supervisor of Nawuna Construction Company where Jacob worked.
Chief Inspector Assunta said Jacob, who resided at Tema Newtown, conspired with one Isaac Mbiah and four others now at large to steal 200 bags of cement valued at GH(1,300 (13 million cedis) belonging to the company.
The prosecution said while they were stealing the cement, the accused person and his accomplices were seen by some workers of the company who reported the matter to the Kpone Police and they were later arrested.
