The Centre for Christian Leadership Development and Counselling (CCLDC), a division of Flowers School of Technology and Management Studies (FSTMS), last Friday, November 11, 2011, held its first graduation ceremony for more than 141 graduates who satisfied the requirements for the award of certificates, diplomas and advanced diplomas.
Students who undertook short courses lasting six months in various courses in technology and management, earned certificates and diplomas, while those who undertook courses lasting 12 months were awarded advanced diplomas at an impressive ceremony held at the Church of Philadelphia International, Buduburam in the Gomoa District of the Central Region.
The CCLDC is a non-partisan, non-advocacy, non-profit training centre with a primary mission to assist in solving educational problems among the less fortunate in Africa. The 2011 graduating class included nationals of Ghana, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Southern Sudan.
The centre, which plays a leading role in professional education in Buduburam and its envi-rons, is committed to providing education and empowering the youth in leadership skills to pursue academic and career training of the choice.
In a keynote address, Ms Veronica Fynn, Director of the Public Health Department of the FSTMS, called on the graduates to put all the theories they had learnt in the classroom into practice. She used herself as an example of a student, who had to overcome all her struggles before family achieving academic laurels.
She urged the graduates to use their newly acquired knowledge to help in the development of the African society.
