Madam Abena Kwallah, Western Regional Women's Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called the electorate, particularly women to remain loyal and unite solidly behind the NPP because that was the only way to protect the freedom, peace and tranquillity being enjoyed in the country.
She said the air of freedom that had made women to rediscover their potentials in national building must not be taken for granted and women had the duty to jealously protect this to enhance development.
Madam Kwallah said this when she inaugurated the Western Region branch of the Nassara Women's Club of the NPP in Takoradi on Saturday.
She said the formation of the Nassara Club would help the people particularly those in the Zongo communities to have a better understanding of the programmes and policies of the government and counter misinformation and lies being peddled against the NPP.
Mr. Anthony Evans Amoah, Western Regional Minister, urged members of the club to work hard for the party to retain power to enable it to continue with its good works.
He advised women to take advantage of the national health insurance scheme to promote a more efficient healthcare delivery for themselves and their families.
Alhaji Fuseini Maiga, National Chairman of the Club, told the GNA later that based on its record good governance, tolerance and steady development in all sectors, the NPP would win the 2008 with a bigger margin.
He said the Nassara club has the objective to empower more women to take up leadership roles to uplift the image of the party.
