Junior High School (JHS) students at Adidokpoe Methodist School near Battor in the Volta region are worried they may fail in ICT examination come 2012.
While they are expected to take the exams in ICT, they have no computers or electricity to aid them in their study of the subject.
According to Joy News’ Peter Sarpong, records by the school, which is only accessible by boat, indicate students there performed poorly in last year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
The government this year rolled out an ICT project to distribute 6,000 laptops to basic schools across the country. Authorities say they are yet to receive any part of the cake.
Speaking to Joy News on Friday, teachers in the school said students are compelled to use their commonsense in answering the ICT examination questions due to the current situation facing the school.
The school authorities and the students body of the Adidokpoe Methodist School are therefore pleading with the government to come to their aid to help the students pass the exams.
