The national executive of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is reported to be meeting to decide on what kind of punishment to be meted out to an aspiring parliamentary candidate in the Mion constituency.
The aspirant, Mohammed Hashiru has criticized the party executive for refusing to conduct primaries in the constituency.
He is also accusing them of imposing a candidate on the constituency.
Speaking to Joy News, he said the party executive organized a 50th anniversary party for all polling agents in the constituency at which the polling agents told the executive that they would not accept any imposition of a candidate on the constituency.
According to Mr. Hashiru, the polling agents said that if the executive went ahead to impose a candidate on the constituency, then they must be ready to come and do the campaigning themselves for the candidate.
He also asserted that the National Organiser of the party, Mr. Lord Commey had told the constituency members that they were going to do consensus building, but that has not been done and instead a candidate is being imposed on the constituency.
According to Joy News sources Mr. Commey has said that, a candidate is being imposed on the constituency in the interest of the party.
