Deputy Minister of Energy Kofi Buah has urged residents in the Western region complaining about expatriates taking over opportunities in the oil industry to exercise restraint.
He said it is too early to feel the expected impact from the industry. He has therefore assured the nation of government’s commitment to implement the local content policy to the letter.
His comments follow agitation among the youth about worsening living conditions in the Western region.
Deputy Minister for Energy told Joy News government is aware of their concerns. His insists the situation will soon change for the better soon.
Mr Kofi Buah said other parts of the country will also benefit from the oil find and called on Ghanaians to join hands with the government to bring it to fruition.
