Alhaji Abdul Moomi, a leading member of the People's National Convention (PNC) has said the Party was poised to win the 2008 elections and would not tolerate individuals who would attempt to frustrate its efforts.
Addressing the opening session of the Upper East Regional Delegates Conference at Bolgatanga, he condemned attempts by some members of Party to disorganize the conference alleging that it had been postponed.
He said "as far as the National Standing Committee of the Party is concerned, nobody could disrupt any delegates conference to elect regional executives".
The elected officers were, Mr Baba Mohammed, Chairman, Mr Joseph Achana, First Vice Chairman, Mrs Felicia Yamba, Second Vice Chairperson, Mr Fatecha Henry, Secretary and Mr Samuel Tindana, Organising Secretary.
The rest were Mr J. Wayori, Treasurer, Mr Felix Abugre, Assistant Financial Secretary, Mrs Stella Saaka Women's Organiser, Mrs Roben Aniala, Assistant Women's Organiser and Mr Iddrisu Azuure Organiser.
Colonel David Zenlerigu Gbong (Rtd) former National Chairman of the Party, swearing-in the officers asked them to work hard to entice more people to join the Party to enable it win the 2008 elections.
Mr Mohammed, Upper East Regional Chairman expressed appreciation to the members for the confidence reposed in them and pledged to work hard to uplift the Party's image.
