Airtel Ghana has launched an end year promotion dubbed Airtel Friendzy that encourages customers to top up and stand a chance to celebrate the holiday season in style.
The promotion, slated for December to February 29, 2012, would allow customers to win various prizes as they top up.
A statement from Airtel Ghana said there would be daily, weekly, and monthly cash prizes and merchandise to be won.
“The grand prize will be GHC50,000 for the lucky winners in a group at the end of the promotion - there will be fun and interactive activities throughout the campaign,” it said.
The statement said Airtel is working with its partners to give high value prizes to celebrate its highly-valued customers.
It quoted Managing Director of Airtel Ghana, Philip Sowah as saying “this promotion will give Airtel an opportunity to engage with its customers and not only appreciate customer loyalty to the network but also celebrate the holiday season together. The main premise behind the celebration is the strengthening of social bonds between friends and families across the nation during the end year festivities.”
It said Airtel Friendzy would empower winners to purchase dream gifts and or to take care of pressing needs this Christmas.
The promotion comes at a time that Airtel Africa is significantly enhancing customer experiences through a US$1 billion investment in network infrastructure.
The investment will see Airtel deliver HSPA+ 3G networks with speeds of up to 21Mbps which are critical in propelling the transformation of consumers’ lives in Ghana through wireless broadband on 3G enabled handsets.
Airtel also celebrates its 50 millionth customer in Africa this month, a growth of 14 million customers since its entry into Africa 17 months ago.
