Ghanaian and Marseille midfilder, Andre Dede Ayew, could not hold back the temptation of shedding some tears as he was named the third best player in Africa for 2011 losing out narrowly on the ultimate prize. Coming from just being named BBC's African Player for 2011, Dede had high hopes of making it a double but that was not to be. The 2011 Glo CAF African Player Award was a three horse race between Dede, Yaya Toure of Ivory Coast and Manchester City, and Seydou Keita of Mali and Barcelona. After the three were lined up on stage at the Banquet Hall State House, Accra, Thursday night, Dede was declared the third best in Africa, with Seydou Keita in second place. Yaya Toure walked away as Africa's finest player after thanking friends, team mates and family for their support in his career. More soon.
