The Black Stars preparations for the African cup of nations has been handed a major boost with the confirmation that striker Asamoah Gyan will be fully fit for the tournament.
The United Arab Emirates based striker has been undergoing a horse placenta treatment from Serbian healer Mariana Kavocevic at the team’s camp base in South Africa. Gyan was initially ruled out for three- weeks but the Al Ain striker is making progress.
The president of the Ghana football association in an interview with Joy Sports stated that, Asamoah Gyan joined his teammates in training last Friday and could be part of the squad to play South African side Platinum Stars in a final brush-up match on Wednesday.
“Asamoah Gyan’s condition has improved tremendously following the medical services provided by Mariana”. Said Nyantakyi
“He is now playing and sprinting as well and these are good signs of a full recovery”
In a related development, Kwasi Nyantakyi who doubles as the Black Stars management committee chairman also expressed his delight at Michael Essien’s return to top- tier action after a six-month injury lay off. The 29 year old was a 73rd minute substitute in Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Sunderland at the Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
