The Executive Board Chairman of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Dr. K.K Sarpong has cautioned individuals and organizations to desist from demonizing Kotoko.Metro Television, the media organization in charge of the live telecast of the Glo Premier League is no longer showing matches of Kotoko until their differences with the club are solved. In an interview on Asempa FM’s Sports Morning Show on Thursday, the Executive Board Chairman of Kotoko said they have not received any official letter indicating that Metro Television will not be telecasting their matches but admitted that it was true that they failed to cover their last match in Kumasi which was originally scheduled to be shown live but says they are not perturbed.According to him, football has moved from just being a source of entertainment to business and the product he has is his players so Kotoko will not sit down for any commentator to have his private agenda to run-down the same product (players) he is trying to market.Dr. Sarpong quizzed, how can a commentator use words like rubbish to describe players? When making references to even products you do not like you should be charitable at least and not just run wild, he added.Mr. Sarpong admitted not being at the venue on the day the incident happened but believes it could have happened to anybody because the commentator in question (Nana Agyemang) is very 'notorious'.On the next line of action, Mr. Sarpong said they are going to write to the Ghana Football Association but maintained that they will not sit down for any individual to trample on their rights because Kotoko is a big brand and when push comes to shove they can pull out from the sponsorship deal.
