Striking members of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association (CLOGSAG), say government has two weeks to resolve issues associated with the implementation of the single spine pay policy.A meeting Monday by the National Executive Council of CLOGSAG failed to call off the strike started last week across the country to push for the payment of top-up allowances and the migration of CLOGSAG members onto the single spine pay structure.CLOGSAG Western Regional General Secretary, Abraham Quayson, told Joy News following an intervention by the Head of the Civil Service, a meeting has been scheduled between the CLOGSAG leadership and the National Labour Commission on Wednesday, with a follow up meeting between the CLOGSAG leadership and the Minister for Employment and Social Welfare later.“So because of these meetings we have given the government two weeks, up to the end of this February whereby we shall come out with any statement so at the moment we are waiting for the outcome of that meeting. We are not making any statement either to call off the strike but we are saying we are giving the government two weeks,” he told Joy News’ Dzifa Bampoe.Ahead of Monday’s meeting, Joy News learnt the Employment and Social Welfare Ministry and the National Labour Commission asked the CLOGSAG members to resume work whilst they constitute a committee to address their demands.
