The National Organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Yaw Boateng Gyan, is calling for truce among leading members of the party to enable the party focus on election 2012.He was commenting on a statement issued by four leading members of the NDC, in reaction to what they say is a campaign of vilification being waged by some elements in the party against them. The four, P.V. Obeng, Kofi Totobi-Quakyi, Ato Ahwoi and Kwamena Ahwoi describe the alleged attacks on them as infantile but insist it will not affect their dedication to the NDC.Yaw Boateng Gyan tells Joy News the issues raised are being carefully considered.“What we are now planning to do is that, we are going to embark on an outreach programme and try as much as possible to explain matters to the rank and file of our party members and tell them actually what is happening.”He also suggested: “I think we need to put some of these things behind us.”
Last week, a leaked letter from the Chairman of the party, Dr Kwabena Adjei to the President also raised concerns about developments including the prosecution of Alfred Agbesi Woyome that threatened unity within the ruling NDC.
