Over hundred angry supporters of the opposition New Patriotic Party Wednesday afternoon besieged the premises of Asempa FM threatening to beat up an NDC panel who they accuse of raining insults on their flagbearer.
The angry supporters accused a member of the ruling NDC, Peter Atukonor of leading the assault on their flagbearer on Ekosii sen, a political programme on Asempa FM located on the premises of Joy FM.
The supporters were prevented from entering into the Asempa studio by workers of both Joy and Asempa FM before the security forces poured in.
Some supporters of the National Democratic Congress also arrived in time to 'protect' their officials.
But for the timely arrival of the special squad from Westec Security the situation could have degenerated.
Shortly, personnel from the Ghana police service also arrived with their crowd control ammunition to calm matters.
The NDC panel on the Ekosii sen show were later whisked away by the police.
