Airtel Ghana’s Consumer Promotion, Airtel Friendzy ended with lots of excitement in Accra, as a group called BUDUJAY 1 win the ultimate GHC50,000 for scoring the highest points over the three-month period.
Another group called MERCI came second, and took away GHC15,000, while ARK 1 came third and took away GHC10,000.
In total, the promotion rewarded more than a thousand individuals with GHC1,070,0000 in cash, devices and Airtel airtime.
A statement from Airtel said it gave away GHC400,000 in cash prizes, GHC220,000 worth of Samsung Galaxy tablets and Samsung Galaxy SII mobile devices, and GHC450,000 worth of Airtel airtime.
Speaking at the finale, the Head of Corporate Communications and External Affairs at Airtel Ghana, Donald Gwira said “we put together how much an individual or group top up with or used on Voice calls, internet and Value Added services like SMS or Caller Ring Back Tones and reward you as an individual or group.”
He said Airtel toured the major cities of Ghana; Kumasi, Takoradi, Cape Coast and Accra, rewarding customers and giving back to them in honour of the promise it made at the beginning of the year.
Senior Marketing Manager at Airtel Ghana, Kingsley Bennett said Airtel Friendzy was Airtel’s way of enhancing favourable relationships among Ghanaians while putting money back into the pockets of our customers.
“Most of us had various expectations for the new year and for us at Airtel, we are happy to see people smiling and staying together throughout this promotion. This promotion also aimed at celebrating friendship as participants were encouraged to play with their friends and win prizes that will be shared among participating group of friends.
Kingsley Bennett said Airtel is also rewarding customers with other offers such as My Airtel My Offer, Magic Moments, WOW, and Bonus for Airtel Money users.
He congratulated all the winners in the Friendzy promotion and urged everyone to join the Airtel network because it has a lot to offer to Ghanaians.
