Women movements from three diocese of Musama Disco Christo Church (MDCC) have presented grocery valued GH¢5,000 (50 million cedis) to support 150 aged and venerable members of the church.
The women presented soap, rice, bread, corn, milk, soft drinks and second hand clothing at a ceremony that coincided with the 80th celebration of the Church's Peace Festival at Mozano near Gomoa Eshiem.
Mrs Rebecca Teye, President of the Dodowa diocese of the church, who presented the items said the gesture was part of their social responsibilities.
She said the Movement was offering training skills to their members in the areas of batik tie and dye, bread baking and other ventures to make them supportive to their husbands and the Church.
Receiving the items, Rev. Mutakoba Afeye, Welfare Officer of the Church thanked the women for their assistance and urged them to extend it to other vulnerable groups.
Prophet Matapoly Moses Jehu-Appiah, Akaboha II advised the clergy to co-operate with traditional leaders, elders and other community leaders.
