Adam Fuseini and his girlfriend, Karimu Memunatu, have been arrested at a suburb of Tamale, by a community vigilante group when they were found having sex in the night at the community cemetery.According to a reliable source, the two are currently being questioned by the traditional elders of the community for slurring the traditional norms and degrading the dead and to ascertain the motive behind the act.The lovers were said to have first absconded when they were sighted at the cemetery, but the decision of the girl to later trace her sandals back to the place enabled the men to arrest her.Narrating the incident to The Finder, an eye witness who is also a member of the vigilante group, Samin Mohammed, said at 9.30pm on Saturday, the vigilante group during one of their usual rounds saw two people secretly walking in the dark into the cemetery.Samiu said unknown by the two, the group secretly followed their trail to ascertain their motive at the cemetery in the night."It took us 15 minutes to locate their presence because there were a lot of trees around," Samiu said."We finally saw them at a little distance lying together naked and they quickly took to their heels at the sight of our touch light, leaving their clothes and sandals behind," the witness added. He said upon chasing them deep into the bush without finding the two, they took their clothes away."In the very early morning of Sunday, the lady traced back for her sandals and other belongings in the cemetery only to be arrested after she had agreed of her involvement in the act upon several interrogations," Samiu said.Samiu added that it was when the girl was arrested that she revealed the identity and location of her lover, which led to his arrest as well.
The witness also said the two were likely to be fined for the act.
