A yellow Kia Pride on Monday fell into the Odor lagoon near the Agbogbloshies market in Accra, leaving one person injured.
The accident occurred around 12 noon after the driver had left it at a washing bay very close to the lagoon to be washed.
Mr Sule, the mate of the car, was said to have started the car after it had been washed, only to realize the breaks of the car were defective and thus the car drove straight into the lagoon.
Eye witnesses at the scene told the Ghana News Agency that all they saw was that the car was moving towards the lagoon from where it was parked then finally it entered into the lagoon, but they quickly rushed through the bonnet of the car to get the 20-year old mate out of the car before he drowned.
Mr Sule after his rescue thanked God for saving his life and the people for the love they had shown to him by rescuing him immediately the accident happened.
He said he was only trying to move away from the washing bay only to realize that the car was moving straight towards the lagoon, but he was thankful to God his injuries were not that serious.
