The Abontsidomhene of Abeadze Traditional Area, Nana Nketiah Afful has appealed to the Mfantseman District Assembly to decongest the Ajumako Lorry Station at Mankessim to pave the way for easy passage of vehicles to Dominase, Assin Foso and other areas.
Nana Afful noted that the station located behind the Mankessim Market had become not only a nuisance to commuters and traders but also a threat to lives and property.
The chief, who is also a prominent citrus farmer said attempt by drivers to scramble for space at the over-crowded Station had made drivers to besiege the street making passage to other nearby places very difficult.
"Sometimes it takes about 30 minutes for a vehicle to move out of the station due to the congestion," Nana Afful alleged.
