Inspector General of Police, Paul Tawiah Quaye has urged all citizens of Ghana to use existing security structures in addressing grievances because the administration will not tolerate lawlessness. Speaking at the Police Headquarters in Accra Wednesday in a meeting with Interior Minister W.K Aboah, the IGP minced no words when he stated that the service will not condone acts of violence from any person or group that threaten the security of the nation. The meeting was to brief the nation on the state of Ghana’s security in the run-up to elections in December. The IGP pledged that the Police Service will remain neutral in the discharge of its duties to ensure that Ghana remains peaceful throughout the election. He assured that the police will not be biased towards any person or group and added that the administration would welcome open and constructive criticisms but reject unfair accusations that are aimed at discrediting people in the service. Mr Paul Tawiah Quaye also called on the media to exercise circumspection in their reportage and refrain from feeding the public with information that has the potential to throw the nation into anarchy. He particularly asked the media to stop making their platforms available to persons who would want to use it to discredit others.
