The Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) has unveiled its VISA Classic Card service and other electronic banking products to customers in Kumasi.Managing Director, Stephen Kpordzih, says the transformation of the bank’s IT infrastructure and investments in technology in the last two years is in line with ADB’s three-year strategic plan to be among the best performing banks.“With a fully computerized network, modernized IT infrastructure, and powerful IT banking software, ADB has built a large capacity for transaction processing and service delivery. Transaction volumes have increased exponentially, while percentage uptime for QuicCash services on our ATMs has reached peak performance”, he stated.Mr. Kpordzih observed that ADB achieved tremendous progress in customer service delivery with the opening of 21 new branches and relocation of three others in the last two years.He is excited customers will be able to access their accounts both locally and internationally through the use of the ADB Visa Classic Cards.VISA international is a global payment technology company that connects financial consumers, businesses, banks and governments in over 200 countries and territories to use digital currency, instead of cash and cheques.Visa has built one of the world’s most advanced processing networks, capable of handling more than 24,000 transactions per second with reliability, convenience and security, including fraud protection for consumers and guaranteed payment for merchants.According to the ADB MD, the issuance of the ADB Visa Classic Card “is a strong testimony of the financial might and soundness of ADB as a financial institution, and the high standard of corporate governance it has attained”.Mr. Kpordzih also announced the bank’s new remittance service, in addition to its traditional Western Union and MoneyGram Services.The SikaCash money transfer service makes it possible for Ghanaians resident in the US to remit money at low-priced and more culturally-sensitive remittance service.
