Chinese Multinational Hotel Group, Shangri-La has begun preparations to expand into the Ghanaian market.
A development likely to change the face of Ghana’s hospitality industry in the next few years, the company has already acquired a land to construct a modern five-star facility.
The face of Ghana’s tourism sector is expected to change after receiving what is been described as one of the best private sector investments in the country.
The decision by the Shangri-La group to establish a five-star hotel in Ghana has come as a good news to the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, GIPC.
In an interview with JoyBusiness, Chief Executive of the GIPC, Yofi Grant, said the group has successfully registered with the Centre and is expected to commence construction works soon.
He spoke on the sidelines of the Maiden Tourism Investment Forum organized by the Ministry of Tourism Arts and Culture.
The Shangri-La Group has over 95 hotels and resorts across the world. The company is primarily listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
The Ghana Tourism Investment Forum seeks to promote investment opportunities in the industry to potential businesses.
