A 26-year old trader has slashed open her former boyfriend’s scrotum, forcing the testicles out, at Twifo-Praso in the Central Region.
Police suspect Cynthia Baidoo used an unspecified sharp object to inflict the wound on 29 year old Isaac Mensah.
She however claims to have only pulled the man’s genitals in self defense to resist an attempt to rape her.
Isaac is currently recuperating at the Twifo Praso District Hospital where he has been on admission.
Police District Commander, DSP Nana Ofori, told Nhyira FM the two ex-lovers had ended a three-year relationship, but have remained on good terms. At about 9 a.m. on the 29th of last month, Mensah accepted Cynthia’s offer on phone to pay him a visit.
During the visit, while Mensah was undressing a few minutes after ushering in his visitor he met at the gate, the lady pulled a sharp object and inflicted pain on him.
A report was made to the police for Cynthia’s arrest while Mensah was hospitalized at the Twifo Praso District Hospital. But it is not clear what object was used to perpetuate the act.
“While Isaac claim the suspect used a sharp object from the back to cut it, the suspect says she pulled the genitals in self defense”, said Nana Ofori.
“But Isaac received deep cut; besides all the testicles are out but he(Isaac) is stable now," said the policeman.
Meanwhile, a Magistrate's Court has remanded Cynthia into prison custody for causing harm, pending further investigation by police.
She will re-appear on Tuesday, May 8.
