Forty-four-year-old Edward Kenneth Baidoo is in the grip of the Sekondi police for allegedly attempting to commit incest with her 17-year-old daughter.The Western Regional Crime Officer, Mr. James Kofi Abraham told the GNA in Sekondi that the victim whose mother is in Nigeria lived with her half-sister and the father at Sekondi Baakano.The Crime Officer said the victim (name withheld) is a 17-year old JHS graduate and slept in the same room with her half sister.The police said on May 7 when the victim’s half-sister had traveled, the father took advantage and entered the victim’s room and inserted his fingers into her vagina and attempted to have sexual intercourse with her but she refused.The father then subjected her to severe beatings when she escaped naked and sought refuge with a co-tenant.The next day, the co-tenant accompanied the victim to report the father’s act to the Sekondi Domestic Victims Support Unit and was arrested.
