The Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association, GIBA is accusing the Communications Ministry of giving it a raw deal in the roll-out of the digital terrestrial television programme.Ghana is required to switch from analogue to digital television by 2015 in compliance with a directive from the International Telecommunications Union.GIBA however says the ministry is side stepping an earlier agreement for a single signal distributor for all television stations.Executive Director Gerald Ankrah says this will throw several stations out of business because of the cost involved.GIBA is also questioning the award of a Hundred and eighteen million dollar contract to a Chinese company, Star Times to help roll out the system. Mr. Ankrah says the terms of the contract are not in the country’s interest.
