A married couple died Saturday afternoon at Ahasoyewodia community in Obuasi in the Ashanti Region, after drinking poison in a suicide pact between them.
Sourinneni Suglo, 58, and his wife, Yabinta Suglo, 45, from the Upper West Region, consumed the poisonous substance inside their room and were rushed to the AGA Hospital where they were pronounced dead on arrival.
The woman, a mother of five children including twins, was a palm kernel oil maker in the neighbourhood, whilst her husband, who used to work as a miner, was a farm labourer.
