The Bank of Ghana says it will soon move to halt quotation of goods and services in dollars in the country.
The Central bank believes this should in the long term help check the high demand of dollars from businesses and individuals.
Governor of the Bank of Ghana disclose this to newsmen at a news conference on Wednesday after its Monetary Policy Committee meeting.
He however adds that the Central Bank is engaging all stockholders to ensure that the action gets the needed support.
“That is our ultimate aim, over time we should be able to encourage people to move away from doing that…yes we want to stop this dollarization”.
