Nana Kwadwo Jantuah, General Manager of Focus FM, has decried the lack of competent marketers on Ghana’s political landscape.
The seasoned media practitioner said the time has come for marketers in the country to rise to positions of prominence such as governance in order to help market Ghana and her rich resources.
He was addressing the inauguration ceremony of the Marketing Students’ Association (MASA) of the University College of Management Studies (UCOMS), Kumasi.
He lamented over the situation where everyone within an organisation thinks he can arrogate to himself the role of the marketer, saying that such people do not understand marketing and will continue to fail.
He urged managers to endeavor to delegate power to competent subordinates to help build their capacities and ease the pressure on them.
The inauguration saw renowned marketers and businessmen including Mr. Yaw Adjei, Marketing Manager, Databank Adum branch and Mr. Akwasi Appiah, CEO Osons Chemist in attendance.
Persons who addressed the gathering touched on the importance of marketing and how they could be adopted in effective administration of the nation.
Some of the students Focus News spoke to were excited about the Association’s birth, saying that it is long overdue.
