The Football Association of Zambia has debunked reports that FIFA has thrown out their protest against Sudan for fielding an unqualified player in their 2014 World Cup qualifier game last month.
According to their Football Association, FIFA has forwarded the matter to its Disciplinary Committee for a review.
Eric Nwansa who is the spokesperson of the Association in an interview with JOY Sports noted that, reports circulating around that FIFA has quashed their protest are untrue.
“For now we are waiting for FIFA’s communication and we hope something profitable will come out of it”. He told JOY Sports
“Our statement is very clear and we are waiting for FIFA’s disciplinary committee to take a decision very soon”.
If they are successful, the Chipolopolo will be awarded three points despite losing 2-0 in Omdurman.
