Vice President John Mahama has sent a strong warning to foreigner nationals dealing in galamsey operations that they will not be spared when caught.Small scale mining or galamsey operations remain a major destruction to lives and properties in mining communities in the country. The situation has been compounded with the reported arrest of some Chinese nationals engaged in the operations. But speaking at this year’s Ohumkan festival of the people of Tafo in the Akyem Abuakwa traditional area in the Eastern Region, Mr. Mahama says government will be working with the traditional authorities to put an end to the practice.
