Asante Kotoko have confirmed to JOY Sports they will seek legal advice before taking any decision regarding the Ghc11,000 fine handed the team by the Ghana Football Association’s Disciplinary Committee. The league champions first received a fine of Ghc 5000 after the DC found some basis in the accusation that Berekum Chelsea official Oduro Sarfo was physically assaulted during their premier league game with Chelsea in Kumasi last season. The porcupine warriors are to pay another Ghc 6000 for assaulting referee Joseph Lamptey and accusation that angry fans damaged equipment belonging to broadcast rights holders Optimum Media Prime after the match.According to Listowell Yesu Burkason who is the spokesperson of the club, they will consult their legal advisers before any move of appealing the fine.“These are matters of legalities and we have very enviable group of legal luminaries. They are studying the record of proceedings as put together by the disciplinary committee of the GFA and I’m sure at the appropriate time we will decide on our next move”, he told JOY Sports.
