Ghana’s Black Princesses are racing against time in their preparation for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.The tournament kicks off on August 19 and till date, a decision is yet to be made as to whether Ghana’s representatives will be embarking on a training tour in the USA or in Europe to acclimatize and finish off their preparations for the assignment.Information gathered by JOY Sports indicates, a request has been sent to financiers of all the national teams, the Sports Ministry by the Management Committee of the Black Princesses for the release of funds to enable the team travel to the USA for a training tour.But the ministry disagrees with the USA training tour and is alternatively suggesting one in Europe to cut down and save cost, demanding a full cost-benefit analysis is made.The Princesses are still in camp at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence in Prampram and are yet to play any high profile friendly match with only 30 days to the start of the world cup.Rather, they occasionally play against their U-17 compatriots, the Black Maidens.The FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup to be hosted by Japan begins on August 19 and ends on September 8 2012. Ghana, group finalists in the Germany 2010 edition, have been placed in Group D with USA, Germany and China PR.
