The Ghana Athletics Association has received a massive boost ahead of the London 2012 Olympic Games following the delivery of kits from American sports apparel manufacturer, Saucony. The equipment, which includes competition uniforms, track suits, casual wear, rain gear, shoes and bags; was presented to the Ghana Athletics Association on Tuesday at the team’s camping base in London.According to a source gathered by GNA Sports from the Association, the gesture comes in handy with barely nine days to the commencement to the Games for the Ghanaian athletics team that has been without a kit sponsor recently.Previous kit sponsors, Puma cut ties with the Ghana Athletics Association following the expiration of their 'marriage' in 2008.Three athletes namely Margaret Simpson, Ignitiuos Gaisah and Vida Anim are the Ghanaian torchbearers for the Games scheduled for 27 July to 12 August. It will be recalled that the athletics governing body struck a partnership with the American outfit during the 2011 World Athletics Championship in Daegu, South Korea.Founded in 1898, Saucony is a leading global manufacturer of athletic shoes best-known today for its premium running shoes and men's and women's apparel.**
