Luv FM’s Kwabena Ampretwum who visited the vicinity spoke to the Wirempehene of the area who denied knowledge of the activities of Chinese illegal miners operating in the area for the past three months.
According to the Wirempehene, sometime ago, one of the chiefs accompanied a Ghanaian to his palace to seek a permit to mine in the area.
The Wirempehene maintained that he turned them away with the explanation that it is only the Minerals Commission that can grant such a permit.
A meeting held Thursday afternoon between the residents of Nsiana, the Amanise West Police Commander and the Chiefs of the area concluded that the illegal Chinese miners are driven out of the area immediately.
The meeting also established that the Chinese miners did not possess any permit covering their operationS in the area.
