Uganda Hippos coach Paul Nkata has warned his youngsters against complacency as the under 20 side step up preparations for the first leg of the 2013 African Youth Championship against Ghana.
The Ugandans welcome Ghana's Black Satellites at Nakivubo Stadium next Saturday hoping to establish early advantage.
Nkata's boys beat Mozambique over two legs to set up the date against Ghana – the former African and world champions.
“Although we won against Mozambique in the first round that wasn’t enough,” said Nkata, “We need to work harder and more focus is needed.
“The boys are in good shape now and the South Sudan friendly helped us see some loopholes that we need to work on.”
The winner of the two-legged tie, with the return leg due August 10-12 in Accra, will face either Morocco or Gambia in the final round qualifier in September and October. Algeria will host the finals of the 2013 African Youth Championship.
