The coach of the Ghana athletics team Albert Nukpezah has cast doubts on the performance of his charges in the London Olympic Games which is just few days away.
He is unimpressed with the preparation of his charges ahead of the Olympic Games.
He told Joy Sports in an exclusive interview the three athletes representing Ghana (Vida Anim ,Margaret Simpson, and Ignatius Gaisah) are not well psyched for the games.
According to him, they had few competitions compared to their colleagues in other countries.
“To be honest with you they are not well psyched because all these athletes have passed through my hands before. These athletes have all won international medals for Ghana before but it seems that little attention and motivation is given to them”
“Out of the achievements they have, if they were given the necessary logistics, the necessary support and the necessary international competitions, am sure they will do well but as at now, they are not prepared at all”
“Time factor also did not allow them to come early for the national championship so preparation was all that poor because they could have come to get some adaptations before the Olympics”
“My hope for the Olympics is in doubt because I could see that they are not fully prepared” Nukpezah stated.
The Olympic Games begin on Friday the 27th of July.
