Three persons died on the spot when an unregistered BMW salon car travelling from Wiamoasi to Kumasi collided with a Toyota Hilux pick-up from Kumasi at Tano-Dumase on the Kumasi-Mampong highway last Saturday.The deceased, all occupants of the pick-up, were identified as Mrs Eva Antwi 55, who works at the Children's Hospital in Kumasi, Comfort Ofori, alias Abenaa Pokuaa, 39 a hairdresser and Yaa Gyamfuwaa, 50.The bodies have been deposited at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) morgue for autopsy.Nana Antwi Boasiako, driver of the pick-up and an Internal Auditor of Ghana Education Service (GES) who sustained some injuries is responding to treatment at the KATH polyclinic.According to a source at Kona Police Station, the accident occurred when the driver of the saloon car, overtaking a taxi cab veered-off into the lane of the pick-up and crashed into it.Meanwhile, Eric Atobra, the driver of the BMW is in police custody assisting in preliminary investigations.Source: GNA
