Africa medal hopeful in canoeing for Togo arrived in London with much confidence to win a medal as he did four years ago. The man behind Togo’s Beijing success in the sports was Benjamin Boukpeti who won bronze four years ago. The slalom canoeist won Togo’s first Olympic medalist but he’s not the huge star there that one might expect. He was born in France, studies in France and his brother, Olivier, is in the French flat water canoeing team but one person to lift the flag of Togo high out of six athletes presented at the multi sports event to shock the World will be Benjamin.
