The former President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana, Prof Alex Dodoo has indicated that faith work wonders but religion and medicine also play important roles in healing sick persons.
He was speaking on Joy FM’s Ultimate Health programme, Tuesday which saw Uncle James Ebo Whyte, Very Rev. Dr. Nana K. Bart, Mr. Fred Deegbe all appearing as panel.
According to Professor Alex Dodoo, who is also the author of the Healthy Secret book, great scientific discoveries which help in the treatment of diseases have come about as a result of faith.
He has therefore entreated everyone regardless of their religious differences to have faith in God for speedy recovery whilst they are on the sick bed or on medication.
As a Christian, he maintained that working with the principles of faith work wonders, but sick people without faith can get weaker and weaker and the condition could lead to their untimely deaths.
Uncle James Ebo Whyte of the Roverman Production expressed regrets that some religious beliefs do not permit people to take medicines.
“These people believe that they are cheating on their God when they go elsewhere to seek for healing,” he observed, but noted that it will be wise on the part of patients if they combine orthodox medicines with spirituality to ensure successful healing.
Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen, he explained, adding that faith can make and unmake everyone according to their understanding of it.
Uncle Ebo Whyte said human beings are more than bodies and anything that happens to their emotions can affect their bodies, therefore, they must guide their hearts with all diligence. He also advised all to keep a healthy diet, environment, and religion for a healthy life.
