The deadline for submission of entries for the 2nd edition of the National Contractors Excellence Awards has been extended to the end of this month.
The 2nd edition of the National Contractors Excellence Awards slated for September 21 now includes both Building as well as Road Contractors.
The Technical Committee Chairman of the Association of Building and Civil Engineering Contractors, Rockson Dogbegah explains has been necessitated by the funeral activities of the late president.
“The president’s death slowed down everything in the country. Most contractors therefore forgot about the entry and closure date or suspended it to refocus on the funeral activities. This has necessitated the extension to enable all contractors in the country to participate” he noted.
Apart from a few businesses like the textile and print industry that cashed in on the president’s demise, many are the sectors in which activities came to a virtual hault during the mourning period.Business activities now recommenced after a general slow down last week due to President Mills’ funeral.
A number of corporate activities that coincided with the demise of the president and its related activities were withheld. Such activities are expected to be rescheduled from this week.
