The Acting Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Henry Kofi Wampah will chair his first Monetary Policy Committee Meeting next month.
The meeting which will begin on September 10 would review the health of the economy and take decisions most likely to affect the cost of borrowing from banks.
This will be Dr. Wampah first major task since he took over as acting Governor of the Bank of Ghana, following the appointment of Kwesi Amissah-Arthur as the Vice President.
Analysts will be keenly looking out for strategies Dr. Wampah would come up with in managing the dwindling fortunes of the cedi.
Meanwhile, JOYBUSINESS has learnt that, no new governor would be appointed at least till the end of the year. This means, Dr. Wampah will be acting as governor for quiet a longer period.
