The U.S, two-time winners managed to run down a hard-working Ghana side by a second-half treble from Maya Hayes after Linda Addai had conceded a 20th minute own goal.
Coach Robert Sackey will be hoping for an upturn in front of goal in the remaining matches as Ghana pushes for qualification from the group stages.
