A day after two sides secured their places in next season's Premier League, the competition starts for clubs paired in Zone II of the Division One League play-offs.
King Faisal and Sekondi Hasaacas, both, former premiership sides are involved in Thursday's kick off for promotion.
For the two sides, a return to the topf-flight remains their motivation but they face competition from Gold Stars and Tarkwa United also seeking to pick the sole slot from Zone II.
King Faisal, who were relegated from the elite division last season are seeking to make a quick return after just a season in the second-tier league, meet Gold Stars at the El-Wak Stadium in their opening match.
Hasaacas, who two season's ago ended their 20-year stay in the top-flight competition following relegation will plan to bounce back when they start at the Tema Stadium against Tarkwa United.
The winners after three rounds of matches over an eight-day period from every group make it to the topflight league.
