Kumasi Asante Kotoko was on Thursday presented with a 14-seater minibus as their prize for emerging champions of the 2011/2012 Premier League.
The minibus, valued at $27,500 is the ultimate prize for the Premier League for which the Porcupine Warriors received it in addition to the League trophy, which was presented to them during their coronation on the final day of the season.
Kwesi Nyantakyi, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) described the package as attractive and in line with his outfit’s decision to give out a vehicle to the eventual winner of the 30-week League.
He recalled that the vehicle will be useful to the activities of the Club, recalling that former League champions, Aduana Stars and Berekum Chelsea also benefited from the initiative.
Jerry Asare, Accra Representative of Asante Kotoko, commended the GFA for living up to their promise to present a vehicle to the winner of the League. He was presented on behalf of Kotoko with the keys to the 14-seater minibus which has the '2011/2012 League Champions' embossed on it.
Asante Kotoko, it would be recalled emerged League winners with 63 points, 14-points more than second-placed AshantiGold.
