AFC Ajax right-back Gregory van der Wiel has completed a reported €6m switch to Paris Saint-Germain FC.
The Dutch international, 24, has agreed a four-year deal with the big spending Ligue 1 side and is expected to vie for a starting place with Christophe Jallet, who won his first cap for France last month.
"Christophe was the only player at this position," said coach Carlo Ancelotti. "There will be competition but it won't be a problem for Christophe."
Van der Wiel, a graduate of Ajax's academy who has won back-to-back Dutch titles, was in the stands on Sunday as PSG claimed their first victory of the season, defeating LOSC Lille 2-1.
The Paris outfit kick off their UEFA Champions League campaign at home to FC Dynamo Kyiv on 18 September; they will also meet FC Porto and GNK Dinamo Zagreb in Group A.
