The election for a substantive leader for the Eastern Region Football Association (ERFA) will go ahead in the coming days. This was revealed by Ghana Football Association (GFA) president Kwesi Nyantakyi at the organization’s annual congress in Prampram on Wednesday. The ERFA has been without a substantive leader for one year because of an internal power struggle which has even led to several court actions. The GFA set up and Interim Management Committee (IMC) to run the affairs of the ERFA but another court action is preventing the acting officials from performing their duties. In his address to Congress, Nyantakyi said that the Elections Committee of the GFA will set out the modalities for the election to go ahead for a substantive leader of the ERFA to be found. The GFA boss said that the federation has no interest in the identity of the next leader of the ERFA insisting that stability must be restored to the game Eastern Region to ensure development of the game in that part of the country.
