Telling the intriguing story of post-independence Accra, Expressions of Accra - a fashion show that would take its audience on a journey through the 1960s, ‘70s, 80’s, ‘90s, 2000s, as well as envision the future fashion expressions of Accra’s very fashionable populace – has been launched.
The fashion show dubbed “Threads of Time” stands out from all other fashion shows since it goes beyond the runway, taking its audience on a journey into a rich past to forge ways into an obscure future.
It would capitalize on various sartistic expressions to ensure that the audience is placed in a time capsule, an environment quite stimulating to the senses: Paintings, music, stage design and artwork, spoken word, and so much more.
Expressions of Accra is a wholesome package of fashion, not for commerciality, but as a powerful fusion of history and art.
Highlights of the show would include personality/celebrity catwalk and what promises to be a very exciting futuristic segment, where designers’ imaginations would be made to run wild.
Capitalizing on exploring young talent, though with a heady mix of veterans, designers scheduled to grace the runway will be Msimps, AfroModTrends, Sa4a,Jacqui Johnson Couture Solutions, Elikem The Tailor, Fanny Ann Clothing, BATH Industries, DS Clothing, Dom 21,and Ashnorr Accessories.
This event, being the very first of its kind, would run subsequently as a yearly affair.
