The acting Director General of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) Michael Luguje has paid a courtesy call on GCNet to explore ways of deepening collaboration to ensure efficient and effective business transactions at the port.
The GPHA has been a long standing partner of GCNet and both institutions have been actively working together on various projects including the automation of processes to realise a fully paperless port regime.
Welcoming Mr. Luguje and his team to the offices of GCNet, Dr. Nortey Omaboe, Executive Chairman expressed gratitude for the visit and pledged the company’s commitment to working with GPHA and other key stakeholders in the trade facilitation community to make the country the preferred trading hub in the world.
Dr. Omaboe assured the team that GCNet would continue to partner GHPA to build a constructive and productive relationship that positioned both organisations to leverage the opportunities for growth and expansion.
Mr. Luguje on his part, promised to work with GCNet to ensure the success of port reforms in the country.
The GPHA boss commended GCNet for the pioneering role it has played over the years in fostering trade development and enhancing revenue mobilisation through the deployment of innovative e-applications for the efficient paperless trade and customs transactions.
GPHA and GCNet therefore pledged to lead the path of rallying all stakeholders to vigorously pursue the implementation of the paperless ports regime to boost business competitiveness, reduce cost of business and turnaround time and enhance generation of revenue for the state.
Mr. Luguje was accompanied by the General Manager for Corporate Affairs and Marketing, Esther Gyebi and other senior members of management.
Supporting Dr. Omaboe from the GCNet team was General Manager, Alwin Hoegerle, Deputy General Manager, Emmanuel Darko, Product Development Manager, Carl Sackey, Communications Manager, Aba Lokko and TradeNet Manager, Eben Engmann.
