Scores of police personnel in the Eastern region have been deployed at Suhyen in the region, to avert a possible clash during the performance of the traditional rites for the Akwantukese festival.
At a meeting Thursday, the Regional Security Council took a decision to prevent the Omanhene of New Juaben Daasebre Oti Boateng and his elders from performing traditional rites at the riverside of Suhyen.
It comes after chief of Suhyen vowed to prevent Daasebre Oti Boateng from performing rituals in his town as part of the festival.
Deputy Regional Police Commander, ACP James Abass-Abaa tells Joy News every security measure has been put in place to ensure peace and order in the area.
